Orchestral Whistling Rufus

If the above awesome image makes your thighs quiver (as it do mine), then you must run don't walk to this site, home of the Heftone Orchestra. Don't let the group portrait fool you though. Look closer and you'll find it's just two very enthusiastic banjo players. But such a collection of banjos they play! Such much! Scroll down and you'll find a glorious, generous mp3 collection of the music they make - 25 tracks! Glory, I say, and Glory Again.
The above incidentally, is an example of a Heftone Lojo bass banjo, and is the invention of one Lawrence A. Hefferan, father of Brian.

The Orchestra's album-cover imagery brings up once again the mysterious connection in American culture between frogs and banjos, going back more than a century (subject of a Trampoline Hall lecture I never gave, having spoke instead on the Malleable Personality.)

Perhaps if we get to the bottom of the synchronistic incidence of Rana Banjosis (Rana Clamitans?), we may yet be able to use what we find to save the global frog population's catastrophic slide to extinction. If we don't, perhaps the Banjo Banjosis itself will be next.

Correction: It's just *one* very enthusiastic banjo player, before and after a haircut. I stand corrected.
