For Real This Time

I have a gig (and it's been so long since I last posted that I couldn't even remember what icon to click for the link to make a new posting, and ALSO I would like to take this opportunity to thank the approximately ten people who've been checking this site day after day to find nothing new. Who are you? Show yourselves! Post a comment! Send me an email (banjobanjar at gmail dot com.)

Anyway, I have a gig - this Saturday at 4 pm, in the yard of the Factory Theatre. It's an anniversary party, so I don't know if you're invited, but tickets are 20 dollars. They say I'm playing with a mad accordian player. I don't know whether that's true, but I do know I'm playing with a fiddle player named Caitriona Murphy. We practised today and we're practising tomorrow and maybe we'll practise on Friday. We'll do some fiddle tunes and some other tunes and no less than two tunes by Canadian icon Wade Hemsworth. We might have a mad accordian player, named Dragoslav, as well as a mad harmonica player, named Martin, and a drummer named Paul, and a guitarist named Dave. But for now It's just Caitriona and moi.

Also, I might be teaching a course in theatre and song in the fall. As in writing yer own songs for yer own piece of theatre - not a history of Oklahoma or whatever. It's a gift that seems to have fallen into my lap and I'll post more about it later. For now I simply want to say, I have a gig, this Saturday, outdoors, and it's for real, and thank you again to the faithful ten. I'm all moved in and now I make my posts with a big-window view of Grenadier Road.

Back Soon, soon, Soon...

In the meantime, turn to Patrick for some good instruction. And here's an interesting banjo science blog Patrick's found.
