Beginnings

I remember about two months after I first started playing, I sat down with, Paul Miller, the first guy I'd ever seen play the banjo (at an orientation week presentation during my first week of theatre school, and the song he played was 'Way Downtown') and he told me to play something.

I played one of my rudimentary exercises and he made a sound of great satisfaction and said, "Ah; real music!"
I've always loved that idea of real music.
